SedonaFit FAQs

MEMBERSHIP FAQ’S

How much does it cost?
Dues and initiation fees for each membership type are published on the rate sheet along with a brief description of facilities and services. The initiation fee is a one time fee for time spent with a personal trainer to complete a health history, discuss goals, develop a program and demonstrate the equipment. The initiation fee and a pro rated amount for the current month are paid at joining.

How are monthly dues paid?
SedonaFit does not send monthly bills. The only way dues can be paid on a monthly basis is through automatic charge made on the first day of each month to a checking account or credit card. Other options include prepayment for six or twelve months. If the twelve month prepayment option is chosen, you will receive your thirteenth month free. If you decide to end your membership before your expiration date, you will receive a refund of unearned dues.

Do I need to sign a contract for a full year?
No. The agreement you sign is cancelable at any time with 30 days written notice. You are NOT bound for one year, although your monthly dues are guaranteed not to increase for at least twelve months. Additionally, if you cancel within the first 15 days for any reason you will receive a full refund.

Do I have to pay extra for the group exercise classes?
No. The Yoga, Pilates and Qi Gong on the schedule are included with your membership. What a deal! Occasionally SedonaFit will offer specialized classes which will entail a fee, but those will be clearly labeled.

What kind of exercise equipment do you have?
We feature state-of-the-art equipment from Life Fitness and TechnoGym. Life Fitness sets the standard for traditional strength and cardiovascular equipment. TechnoGym is Europe’s largest exercise equipment manufacturer, and their equipment is exceptionally innovative and versatile. The hydraulic line is excellent for all fitness levels, while the Kinesis™ system focuses on balance, muscular endurance, flexibility and integration of muscle groups, making it ideal for advanced functional exercise, sports specific training and rehab.

Where are the locker rooms?
We made a decision not to offer full locker rooms in order to keep your monthly dues down. However, our restrooms/changing rooms are spacious and well appointed. We recognize that this doesn’t work for everyone and we will be glad to tell you about other choices in the surrounding area.

Is there an extra charge for personal training?
Yes, if you want a full time dedicated trainer, there is a fee. Our trainers are certified and have years of experience working with clients with many special needs. Of course, our staff is always available to answer your ongoing fitness questions for no additional charge.

FITNESS FAQ’S

What are some general fitness recommendations?
A good fitness program should combine cardiovascular exercise with strength training and flexibility. Also, a sound nutritional program is a must.

Why should I work with a personal trainer?
A personal trainer is someone who develops a fitness program for you based on your present condition and fitness goals. They provide you with motivational coaching, and help you to exercise safely using correct form.

How long before I will notice results?
You will notice an increase in your energy level and muscle tone after just several weeks. After around 90 days, you should see significant results in both areas. However, you will begin to feel better immediately having already taken the first step to better fitness and health. Remember, results are based on the amount of time and effort invested.

How much time should I commit to an exercise program?
Ideally you should be active 5 – 6 days per week for 30 – 60 minutes. This doesn’t always have to mean time in the gym. There are many activities that count; walking the dog, gardening, and choosing the stairs are just a few.

What is functional exercise?
Functional exercise is a program that enhances normal activities of daily living focusing on flexibility, balance and coordination.

How do I get started on an exercise program?
Make a commitment to change your life for the better; Meet with one of our professional trainers who will custom design a program based on your current fitness level and goals; Then JUST DO IT!
